A Team Effort
My team and I have been pulling long days working through all of the final assembly. It's been a massive project moving literal tons of metal around, but also super rewarding to see it all come together.
I’m grateful for an awesome team who have make this all possible! Huge shoutout to Luke, Eva, Kate, Tim, Jesse, Evie, Molly, Mandy, and Sung-Yoon for their detailed work! My kids even pitched in to help 😊
Monitor Stand Improvements
We made two small tweaks to the Monitor Stand Tray to make it even better. Some of our early product testers told us they wished the Monitor Stand Tray was slightly wider so it could fit a 16" MacBook Pro. So during production we modified the tray to be 1.5" wider (now 15.5" wide) and I think it looks even more proportional. We also lined the inside of the tray with felt so that it feels nicer to slide things in and out without any scratching. These are both small changes, but they make an even nicer finished product.

The Final Mile

Good news! We’re nearing the finish line of production which means we can start assembly and shipping soon. Most of the finished Gather parts have been delivered to our HQ here in Pennsylvania, and we're just waiting on a few final items. (Check out my previous update for more photos of the manufacturing)
Schedule update
Our felt supplier’s machine went down so that pushed our timeline back by a month, but they are up and running again. As I’ve learned from making products for the past 14 years, these types of delays are inevitable no matter how hard you try to stay on schedule. But even with this hiccup, we are excited to still be pretty close to our projected dates.
Assembly
My team and I are working through the process to inspect and assemble each part. We have over 30,000 individual components to turn into 10,000 finished items so this is no small task 😮. It's a slow, methodical process, but we want to make sure everything is perfect before it gets shipped to you.
Packaging
I’ve been working closely with our packaging manufacturer to dial in the boxes for each Gather part. We want to make sure your Gather sets arrive safe and sound. It’s been a fun process to design all of the graphics for the individual boxes and add little details to make a nice unboxing experience.
Shipping
Our first orders will be shipping out in the next couple weeks, but it's going to take us some time to get each order assembled, packed, and shipped. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process and everything and refine our processes along the way. When your order has been shipped, you’ll receive an email with tracking link.
We are so excited to get Gather on your desks and can’t wait to see how you use it in your setup!

The last couple months have been a whirlwind, but I’m glad to report we’ve made huge progress on Gather. The first finished parts just arrived at our HQ, and we are stoked with how everything is turning out! Since our sample run last year, we have made some small tweaks and improvements.
We've been on-site with our metal fabricators, powder coaters, and packaging team to iron out all of the details (photos below). I can’t stress enough how helpful it's been to do this all locally, where we can walk alongside our manufacturers and literally watch everything get made.
Shipping Time Frame:
The plan is to start shipping Kickstarter orders at the end of April and continue throughout May. We'll be shipping in waves as my team and I work through the assembly process and final QC on each part.
The best part of doing all of this in-house is that we can have our eyes on everything. It’s a slower methodical process, but it gives us complete control (and helps me sleep at night knowing everything was done correctly).
We can’t wait to get Gather on your desks soon! I’ll be in touch with more updates as the shipping timeline gets solidified.
Gather production is underway!

Lots of exciting Gather progress! Production is underway and we’ve been working closely with each of our manufacturers to make sure everything is dialed in.
So far we are still on track to ship in April, but there’s always a chance we could hit a snag in production that could slow things down. Don’t worry though, we’ll keep you posted the whole way through.
The best part about producing Gather locally is being able to visit each manufacturer and chat with them in person. Instead of waiting for packages from overseas and wondering if they’ll be good, we can literally watch the production happen and work through any hiccups along the way. This allows us to refine things in real time to create an even better product.
We also just met with our packaging manufacturer here in York, PA to finalize the boxes. It’s crazy how much thought and engineering goes into creating “simple” packaging to ship a heavy product like Gather. We’ve been working closely with them to design packaging that will make sure Gather arrives safely to your doorstep and is also 100% recyclable (no plastic!)
